Abstract
Estudo sobre a assimilação do jazz na cultura popular francesa dos anos de 1930 e criação de uma sociedade de entusiastas desse estilo, especialmente em torno do Le Quintette du Hot Club de France. A transcrição e análise de Tiger Rag, música dos membros da Original Dixieland Jazz Band (Nick La Rocca, Eddie Edwards, Tony Sbarbaro, Larry Shields e Harry da Costa) na interpretação do Le Quintette (LE QUINTETTE DU HOT CLUB DE FRANCE, 1934, remasterizado em 1993) revela suas práticas de performance, especialmente de seus solistas: Django Reinhardt, no violão, e Stephane Grappelli, no violino.Study about the assimilation of jazz into French popular culture of the 1930s and the emergence of a society of jazz enthusiasts, especially around Le Quintette du Hot Club de France. The transcription and analysis of Tiger Rag, composed by the members of the Original Dixieland Jazz Band (Nick La Rocca, Eddie Edwards, Tony Sbarbaro, Larry Shields and Harry da Costa) and performed by Le Quintette reveal performance practices of its main soloists: Django Reinhardt on the guitar and Stephane Grappelli on the violin.
