ABSTRACTThe influence of the powered effect on the aerodynamic performance of the blended-wing-body (BWB) takeoff configuration is analysed in this study by solving the three-dimensional Reynolds-averaged Navier–Stokes equation on a multiblock structured grid. The powered effect on the aerodynamic performance of the BWB300 configuration was investigated with through-flow nacelle (TFN) and powered nacelle (PN) using this method. The results showed that although the influence of the powered effect caused a slight change in the aerodynamic performance of the BWB takeoff configuration, it did not change the development trend of the aerodynamic performance of the BWB takeoff configuration. Therefore, the TFN model can be used to obtain the general development trend of the aerodynamic performance of the BWB takeoff configuration in the early stages of the BWB design. However, when more accurate aerodynamic values are required, the powered effect should be considered.
