In the present study, treatment of Halostonitriles (HANs) contaminated water has been investigated. These materials are a new generation of disinfectant by-products (DBPs) that result from the halogenation of nitrogen by-products. Hybrid treatment method is one of the most effective methods with high performance efficiency for removal of contaminants such as HANs, which has been evaluated in this study. In the present study, performance of the adsorption process, ultrafiltration process (UF) and nano-filtration (NF) process have been investigated. In this regard, the thermodynamic changes of process, the adsorption of contaminants in a fixed bed and under continuous operating process, the rate of membrane permeability, the effect of flow rate, the effect of feed inlet concentration and finally complementary method as hybrid process were studied.
