Aim: to identify the Brazilian production of thesis and dissertations conducted on the nursing field about healing; to describe the general tendencies of this production. Method: narrative literature review. We searched in the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel’s Thesis and Dissertations databank and in the Nursing Brazilian Association- Center of Nursing studies and researches’ databank. We included 32 studies and the analysis was qualitative. Results: most of researches had a quantitative approach and were presented in a dissertation form. We found as equal themes: technologies for wounds treatment, profile of individuals presenting wounds, nursing professionals’ knowledge and practices concerning wounds treatment, wounds assessment and wounds treatment costs. Final Remarks: this review provided an identification of the tendencies, from where we found a gap in knowledge production. The study contributes to guide the actions developed in the practice of nursing professionals, once it allows the management of patient care with skin lesion according to the trends observed in Brazilian production
