ON THE NOTION OF SPATIAL COMPETITION IN ECONOMICS

Abstract

The paper considers the concept of «spatial competition» in different branches of economics. It describes theemergence of its first studies in economic theory, and further studies in spatial economics framework and industrial organization framework. The article shows the difference between spatial economics and industrial organization approaches to analysing spatial competition.
