In Russia, the “profile” of patients with ovarian neoplasms defines the gynecologist, who must still at the preoperative stage most reliably assess the probability of malignancy for the correct selection of further tactics of the treatment. Aim of investigation – to study the sensitivity and specificity of RMI and ROMA methods in the differential diagnosis of benign and malignant ovarian neoplasms at the preoperative stage. 70 patients aged 22 to 80 years, received on surgical treatment in the gynecological clinic of SSMU participated in a prospective study. Patients who had been diagnosed with ovarian masses through imaging analyses were assessed for their expression of the tumor markers CA125 and HE4. The ROMA and RMI values were also determined. The results of histological examination of surgical material were studied after surgery. According to the results of the study, the frequency of occurrence of benign true tumors, tumor-like neoplasms and ovarian cancer was not significantly different in patients of reproductive and postmenopausal periods (p> 0.05). Such methods as RMI and ROMA showed fairly high sensitivity (83.3% and 75% respectively) and specificity (95.3% and 100% respectively) and can be more widely used to assess the nature of ovarian neoplasms at preoperative stage. The value of CA-125 and RMI for differential diagnosis of benign and malignant ovarian neoplasms decreased in patients with endometriosis.
