"Shevchenkiana" electronic personal collection of V. I. Vernadskyi National Library of Ukraine: peculiarities of organization and content
Abstract
The purpose of the article is to substantiate the meaning and reveal the peculiarities of the formation of full text personal collection "Shevchenkiana" on the basis of the universal electronic library "Ukrainika", to analyze the tasks, stages of creation, structure and content of the electronic collection. The research methodology is based on the application of a systemic-structural approach and complex of general scientific methods (generalization, analysis, synthesis). Scientific novelty. The historical and cultural significance of the formation of digital collections dedicated to outstanding figures on the basis of electronic resources of scientific libraries is substantiated. The experience of partially solving the problem of creating a collection of electronic Shevchenkiana in the information space is summarized on the example of the functioning personal collection "Shevchenkiana". The mechanisms of organizing a structured public personal archive as an effective tool for preserving cultural heritage in the conditions of martial law are considered. Conclusions. Despite the significant domestic and foreign experience gained in the creation of electronic Shevchenkiana, the organization of a complete fundamental Shevchenko resource and its presentation in open access for the general public is an unsolved problem. Scientific libraries, as leading centers of social communications, using the latest means of organizing electronic resources, have the opportunity to structure and present unique collections of historical and cultural heritage stored in their main and specialized funds. At present, the libraries contain a significant part of the works dedicated to T. Shevchenko, which are gradually digitized by specialists and become the digital cultural heritage of the country. And although the process of digitization and presentation of documents in digital library collections does not solve the problem of organizing a single Shevchenko resource, it largely allows filling the gaps in the electronic collection of full-text documents on Shevchenko subjects. Practical experience of creation by specialists of V. I. Vernadskyi National Library of Ukraine the digital collection "Shevchenkiana" shows the possibility of effective preservation of documentary heritage dedicated to outstanding compatriots through the development of flexible library historical and memorial resources built on modern information technologies.
