Pregnancy and neuromyelitis optica
Abstract
Neuromyelitis optica (NMO) is an idiopathic inflammatory demyelinating disease, which mainly affects the optic nerve and spinal cord. It is common in the women of child-bearing age. The disease may suffer the effects of cytokines during pregnancy, but at present the relationship between pregnancy and NMO remains unclear, and the treatment of NMO during pregnancy remains controversial. It still needs further study to guide clinical practice. DOI: 10.3969/j.issn.1672-6731.2016.10.005
