Connected to the work of transmitting an ideology and aesthetic project close to the people and contrary to the different dictatorships that are installed throughout Latin America, José Agustín Goytisolo and his poetry are recovered by the so called songwriting or new song from both sides of the Atlantic, fact presaged and desired by the social poets and has managed to give the mass audience a civil song with patent historicalconsciousness. In this sense, his classic composition, “Palabras para Julia”, has been set to music insistently by various songwriters and folk groups, especially, those seated in the Rio de la Plata, who believe in their testimonial value, but also as a timeless legacy, stripped of absolute truths, have sung and redefined every time, alternately making a film soundtrack, music political acts and tributes to human rights.
