Driven by built-environment damage, losses from wildfires have inflicted far-reaching consequences on communities globally. Proper strategies to lower impacts on the built environment should emphasize orchestrating wildland and community mitigation strategies through accurate assessment of vulnerability and risk while accounting for the role of urban expansion.
