COMPARATIVE EVALUATION OF INNOVATION FIELD IN CEE COUNTRIES

The article analyses quantitative and qualitative indicators of innovation development on the example of the CEE countries. In particular, the author compared the indicators such as production of high-tech products, the share of exports and imports of high-tech products in total exports and imports, the number of registered patents and others. Analysis of selected indicators showed that the global financial crisis, namely in 2009, production of innovative products rapidly falling, but since 2012 the sales of high-tech products began to grow. Among CEE countries, which are allocated by author as developing innovative, are: Poland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Hungary. These countries, according to the author, all indicators show positive trends and capacity building innovative industry.Thus, we can conclude that the innovative development of the CEE countries significantly affected by the crisis in the global economy, but today there are positive trends and opportunities of future rapid growth. The author made a conclusion about the intensification of innovation development in the period of economic recovery after the global financial crisis.
