Determination of the optimum rate of incorporating soybean grains into the pig rations. The supply of proteic matter constitutes an important limiting factor in the husbandry of monogastrics in Cameroon. The introduction of soybean into cultural and feeding habits in some populations of the test country since 1981 could reduce this difficulty. In previous studies, Salez (14) carried out a technique of cooking soybean which is adapted to local agricultural units eliminating anti-nutritional factors of this product without affecting its availability in amino acids. According to the above mentioned method, four rations containing 20, 25, 30 and 35 percent of cooked soybean grain were compared to a formula recommended by experts in animal nutrition, on fattening pigs. Zootechnie parameters were recorded during the growth and slaughter as well as an economic comparison, then subjected to statistical analysis. The ration containing 30 percent soybean yielded the best growth rate and the highest profit it yielded a net profit of the same order as the control. The rate of lean meat yield from pigs fed with soybean ration is higher than that of the control.
