Abstract

Professor Dr. N. Subbureddiar excelled in his academic work. He has won numerous awards and numerous prizes and has been a protector of Tamil in his lifetime. His writing is highly commendable as he has written more than 130 rare books in Tamil. He has many achievements in his Tamil work. The Professor first started his educational career in Karaikudi and flourished in his life as a Professor of Tamil. Professor had his academic work in Karaikudi and he remembers his experiences in his books. He had been involved much in academic work. His involvement also helped to plan and organize his academic work. He had dedicated a portion of his life to academic work. He is also an expert in developing and planning educational activities. It is noteworthy that Karaikudi was instrumental in improving the work and its progress. Professor is an enthusiastic performer of many tasks such as academic work and Tamil development work. He had written and published several books in Tamil. His books were published and nationalized by the Government of Tamil Nadu. Thus, Professor was called the (Tamil Grandmaster) as his Tamil development work was special. Based on this, it is clear that the Professor is more interested in Tamil work. When one knows the experience of the Professor, one can understand the meaning of the Professor’s academic works at Karaikudi and how the Professor planned for education and handled various new ventures in academia for the development of Tamil. He also made various plans for academic work and then guided the progress of Karaikudi College. Since Karaikudi College has expanded and expanded into a College of Education. Thus diversified educational activities can be seen to have been improved and developed in Karaikudi by the extended service of Subbu Reddiar. The purpose of this article is to explore the significance of Professor Reddiar’s educational work in Karaikudi.
