CONDUCTER ILONA STEPAN – PROMOTER OF PROFESSIONAL CHORAL ART IN THE REPUBLIC OF MOLDOVA

Abstract

The article has as purpose the illustration of the artistic profile of conductor Ilona Stepan – a prominent personality of the musical culture of our country whose name finds its reflection in the professional choral interpretation art. The author presents the artistic formation stages of the protagonist of the given study and clarifies certain criteria that have underpinned the success of her professional career. At the same time, in order to highlight her professional qualities, here are profiled the most remarkable achievements of the choirs led by I. Stepan and presented the plurality of artistic preoccupations of the conductor and her inexhaustible capacity to work with several different choirs, maintaining a steady quality of artistic production.
