A series of exercises for teaching translation of French texts in the field of computer science to students-philologists

Abstract

A series of exercises on the topic "Types of software" aimed at mastering students-philologists competence in writing translation of French scientific and technical texts have been elaborated within our research. Two stages of training have been proposed: analytical and basic, each of which involves performing certain types and groups of exercises aimed at acquiring specific knowledge in the field of informatics, developing the ability to analyze lexical and grammatical features of scientific and technical texts, in particular structural and semantic characteristics of terminological units of the original language and the means of their reproduction in the translation language, improving the skills of justified and effective use of translation techniques and transformations, and editing skills of the translated text.
