This study aimed to investigate the perception of the family members of psychoactive substance users in relation to the treatment undertaken. To this end, qualitative and descriptive research was undertaken in a Therapeutic Community in Cascavel, in the state of Paraná, with 10 family members of users, in the period July – August 2012. The information was analyzed using the technique of content analysis, identifying the categories Length of stay in the Therapeutic Community; Insecurity and fear as feelings expressed; The perspective of difficulty in family coexistence; andSatisfaction relative to the methodology proposed. We understand that the family member needs the instrumentalization of the professionals involved in the care for the users’ social rehabilitation.
