During mass immunization of oral poliomyelitis vaccine in Bangkok from January to May 1969, 13 paralytic cases associated with poliomyelitis vaccine were reported. the clinical specimens from these patients were examined by virus isolation and serological test. Polioviruses isolated were studied by T marker test and antigenic analysis (Wecker and McBride). The results provide the evidence that the cases were caused by the prevalent "wild" poliovirus type 1 and were not related to the viruses of the vaccine.
