The application of “Destination Evaluation Criteria” for Marble Mountains, Da Nang City

Abstract

“Destination Evaluation Criteria” was issued by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism No 4640/QD-BVHTTDL on December 28, 2016, to strengthen state management và encourage investment, improve the quality of the destination. Every year, Marble Mountains has done a self-assessment based on the criteria. However, the Management Board of Marble Mountains is the assessment unit, so the results are subjective, and the applicability to make policies is limited. This study assesses Marble Mountains through survey experts and visitors to achieve higher objectivity. The results showed that tourism resources, landscape, facilities, environmental landscape and management were evaluated well. On the contrary, sightseeing, shopping, and entertainment are limited issues.
