Panorama da ação política da CUT (2012-2022) e desafios de revitalização sindical

Abstract

In this article, we present an overview of the political action of trade unionism linked to the Central Única dos Trabalhadores – CUT [Unified Workers, Central] in Brazil, covering the period of 2012 to 2022 and reflecting upon the change in position of this trade union, moving from cooperation with Partido dos Trabalhadores governments to confrontational action with the Temer and Bolsonaro governments, against the backdrop of an acute trade union crisis and a search for initiatives to reinforce trade union powers. In the final considerations, we point out some challenges of union revitalization directed at Brazilian trade unionism.
