This paper points out the situation of Armenian physical as well as intangible cultural Heritage in Turkey. Partly destroyed and in any case, denied for a long time, in Turkey the very notion of Armenian « heritage » takes place into the ill-defined conceptual and institutional categories of Heritage. However the current questioning of the kemalist pattern of the Turkish nation-state, and to some extent, neo-Ottomanist inclinations of the AKP, have created a new but ambivalent context. The paper evokes three cases of recently restored monuments and architectural objects (Holy Cross of Aghtamar, Sourp Guiragos in Diyarbekir and the Havav fountains). Finally, the nebula of actors engaged into the survey, inventory and promotion of this Armenian heritage in Anatolia and Istanbul is examined.
