Through a comparative analysis of three case studies in Mexico’s socio-environmental conflicts, this article determines the factors that increase the probability that environmentalist movements manage to stop the construction of projects funded by large corporations, which threaten to cause irreversible damage to the environment. The study reveals that factors such as framing, the capacity of visibilization of the conflict and the articulation of networks are key for mobilizations in order to achieve their objectives.
