Quantitative content analysis of articles published in Journal of Information Processing and Management
Abstract
Background and aim: It is essential to monitor and analyze the contents, themes, and statistical features of articles published in scientific journals. This study aimed for a quantitative analysis of articles published in the Journal of Information Processing and Management in the 2009-2022 period. Materials and methods: The study is a scientometric research. The research population consisted of 729 scientific and research articles published in the Journal of Research Information Processing and Management from 2009 to 2022. The necessary information was collected by reviewing each document and the data was analyzed using Excel. Findings: The most frequent articles were from 2011 (86 articles), the highest academic rank was Assistant Professor (546 individuals), and the highest contribution went to the University of Tehran (208 authors). Moreover, the most popular area of research was information processing (279 articles). According to the findings, 77% of the articles were applied research, marking it as the leading research type. Overall, 99% of the retrieved articles used a cross-sectional approach. Conclusion: The findings illustrated that research topics in the Journal of Information Processing and Management were not affected by temporal restrictions and the majority of the articles focused on information processing.
