COMPARING THE RATE OF PREVALNT BEHAVIOUR DISORDERS AMONG ARDEBIL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL STUDENTS WITH AND WITHOUT SPECIFIC LEARNING DISABILITIES
Abstract
The aim of This study is to investigate the prevalence of behavior disorders among elementary Ardebil school students with and without specific learning disabilties. The subjects of this study were a sample of 377 (191 boys and 186 girls) without specific learning disabilties and 80 students with specific learning disabilties (40 boys and 40 girls) enrolled for the academic year (1388–1389) in Ardebil/ Iran. the sample was taken via stratified random sampling. the Achenbach teacher from was completed by both groups. The specific learning disabilties sample showed significantly more and higher degrees of symptorms in all types of behaviour disorders, including emotional, anxiety, defiant, ADHD/ hyperactive and conduct disorders. with only the exception of physical disorders. another intere sting finding has been the prevalence of ADHD among both groups. Educational settings and helping profesionals should be more aware of this comorbid symptoms along with specific learning disabilities in such students.
