The author analyzes the reasons of the successful no-confidence vote ousting M. Rahoj’s People’s Party (PP) from government in Spain. The leader of the Spanish Socialist Workers’ Party (PSOE) P. Sanchez formed a new government from members of his own party, not including the leaders of other parties who had supported him in passing the vote of no-confidence. The consequences of such an unprecedented course of political events in Spain are not predictable yet. It is unknown, whether the new prime-minister would hold on to power and deliver on even a part of his promises. In many respects the prospects of the Socialist Party at the following early or regular parliamentary elections will depend this
