Double uterus with pregnancy and IUD. Apropos of a case
Abstract
During the embryonic formation in women the mesonephric canals act as “guide” elements for a correct formation of the uterus. Two tubes called Mullerian canals fuse together around the eighth week of pregnancy and form what would letter be known as the female genital tract. If this process does not occur normally the result is a malformation. A 27-year-old female patient with a pregnancy coinciding with an intrauterine devise in a bicornuate uterus is presented. An ultrasonography was carried out resulting in the above mentioned diagnosis and the patient decided to interrupt pregnancy. The interruption was induced with misoprostol after the removal of the intrauterine devise.
