COMMUNICATIVE STRATEGIES AND TACTICS IN STATEMENTS DESCRIBING MILITARY CONFLICT SITUATIONS

Abstract

The paper studies linguistic and communicative characteristics of contemporary political discourse. The author analyses politicians’ communicative strategies and tactics in the speeches devoted to key military events: the events of September 11, Vietnam War, the Iraq War, the war between Georgia and South Ossetia.
