THE FOCUS ON SKILLS AND THE IMPROVEMENT OF EDUCATION
Abstract
This essay offers the possibility of knowing the historicity of the focus on competence, it’s a diversity of positions and some psychological theoretical basis, as well as the viability of educational improvement though this. For the thematic´s development, it was mainly though the qualitative method of analysis of content of some written material. According to studies, the use of the term “competence” started in the area of labor to determine the characteristic of good workers, hence inserted into world of education; there is a diversity of conceptualizations, and a typology equally diverse, however, most experts agree for the achievement of the competences is basic the use of knowledge, skills and values articulated and flexibly, to solve a problem, where the context is an important factor.
