An Example of the TIC Applied to Education: “School 2.0” in Castilla-La Mancha

The article looks at the partial results of a broader research integrated in a R&D project on public policies for promotion to the Information Society in Spain. The public policy of unfolding of School 2.0 is justified before the urgent need of increase the role of the ICT in the scholastic education and to do it through a common policy for all the State. The main target is to apply a rigorous, innovating and adequate methodological model to evaluate the development of instruments that promote the ICT from their formulation, definition and design, to their consequences and impact in the short and the middle term. The methodology is based on the analysis and description of seven variables, with their specific indicators, that evaluate the effectiveness of the implementation and the later development of the School 2.0 project in Castilla-La Mancha. After applying this methodology, different results are obtained, although in main lines, the execution of the policy is effective being reasonable fulfilled the basic objectives during the analyzed academic years (2009-10 and 2010-11). The most prominent results point at a very positive evolution of the School 2.0 program in Castilla-La Mancha since the number of computers by student, the digital classrooms and the trained teachers have been duplicated. It can be concluded that this project is enough stable and firm in this community, although still, needs of some improvements.
