Personal determinants of coping behavior in middle age
Abstract
The article presents the data of an empirical study on the relationship of personal characteristics and styles of coping behavior in middle age. Most studies are devoted to the study of personal determinants of coping behavior at different stages of psychological stress, the number of works on coping behavior of a person with age factor is limited. In this study, an attempt is made to determine the personal determinants of coping behavior in middle age. The research hypothesis is that there are interrelations between the severity of personal characteristics of different levels and the choice of preferred strategies of coping behavior by middle-aged people. The results of this study and the connection revealed in its course can be used in the work of a practical psychologist, both when working with direct inquiries about the formation of the ability to react constructively to life situations, and when inquiring about normative and non-normative crises of middle age, loss of senses or heightened anxiety.
