Cycle révolutionnaire et histoire globale
Abstract
After a few years dominated by doubt as to the possible end of the age of revolutions, the revolution is back once again, both as a societal process and as a problem for history and the social sciences. The article poses the question of the continuity between the revolutions which, over the past twenty or thirty years, have shaken Central and Eastern Europe and the Arab world; but it questions, in parallel, the possibilities of providing in the context of ‘global history’ a new interpretation of the factual simultaneity of several revolutions in different places.
