My Career—Accomplishments, Experiences, and Work‐Life Balance

Abstract

Abstract In describing my career, I have tried to share the experiences as well as the resume‐worthy accomplishments, trying to reflect not only the difficulties encountered but also the help from people along the way. After beginning with a short biography (initial conditions, education and training, career in a nutshell), I highlight some of the struggles and successes along the way (being a woman in the field, my supervisors, my promotions, work‐life balance, finally seminars, and retirement), before closing with something I've learned (advice) and an acknowledgment section, regretting that I almost certainly left someone out.
