The article gives a detailed description of difficulties that emerge in the process of teaching Russian students to make a speech in Japanese at the stage of the speech text preliminary development. The conducted research shows that in the process of acquiring speech making skills students have considerable difficulties and make a number of various mistakes at different stages (phases) of oral speech production. We suppose that for developing an efficient model of teaching students to make a speech in Japanese it is necessary to introduce corrections into the speech production model which are directly connected with the peculiarities of making an oral presentation in Japanese at the initial stage of education.
