CULTURA POLÍTICA PÓS-CONSENSO DE WASHINGTON: O CONCEITO DE CULTURA CÍVICA E A MUDANÇA POLÍTICA NA AMÉRICA LATINA

Abstract

The article proposes a critical reflection on the concept of civic culture and its use in the study of political change in Latin America. The post-materialism index, an example of the use of this concept was tested as an explanatory variable of the political culture in European and Latin American countries. Data analysis ofthe World Values Survey points to the need of reviewing the operationalization of variables in studies of political culture in Latin America.
