The article is devoted to the study of mental disorders, namely emotionalvolitional, in children with severe somatic disease – type 1 diabetes mellitus (DM-1) and associated pathology – chronic tonsillitis (CT). It is noted that CT and DM-1 mutually aggravate the flow of each other, which further contributes to the depletion of the central nervous system, asthenizationof the body and violations of basic mental functions. It is noted that untimely identified and corrected emotional disturbances in early school-age children contribute to the further development in adolescence of more severe mental disorders, such as: depression, psychopathy, accentuation of character, etc. With the help of diagnostic techniques that were used in the category of children we studied, it is found that children with diabetes mellitus and CT existence of emotional disorders (aggression, anxiety, exhaustion, fears) have a negative effect on the course of the underlying disease. It is noted that in order to level or diminish the manifestations of emotional disturbances in children suffering from DM-1 and CT it is necessary to apply adapted psychological methods of correction. For this purpose, a psychocorrection program was developed, the effectiveness of which was checked and analyzed 1 year after the repeated psychodiagnostic examination of patients. It was noted that after psychocorrection in children a sense of fear, aggression, anxiety, exhaustion have been decreased, and in some children, they have been leveled out. It is noted that the corrective work with children will contribute to the less aggressive course of DM-1 and CT and facilitate adaptation of children in society.
