Experimental Study of Water and Sediment Separation under Hydrocyclone and Flocculation
Abstract
In order to study the effect of the combined technology of hydrocyclone and flocculation on the sediment content of water bodies, this paper measures the surface velocity and turbidity by a laboratory self-circulating physical model,ADV and ASM-IV turbidimeter, and analyzes the flow pattern and sediment distribution in the hydrocyclone pool. The results show that:The internal flow field of the hydrocyclone pool is a typical three-dimensional axisymmetric flow field;the turbidity in the hydrocyclone pool gradually decreases from the side wall to the center in the radial direction, and the turbidity gradually increases in the axial direction.Under the same sediment conditions, when the flocculant concentration was 5 mg/L,the effect of final sediment contents in purified water (water purified by the outer ring twice) is the best;the smaller the inlet flow of the hydrocyclone pool, the smaller the final sediment content in purified water.Compared with flocculant, inlet flow has a greater impact on the final sediment content in purified water,so it is a key factor in reducing the sediment content. However, considering the efficiency of large-volume water treatment,it is necessary to improve the water treatment efficiency with the addition of flocculants. This study is of great significance for the treatment of suspended matter in urban sewage for maintaining the normal operation of urban pipe networks and of important reference value for the pretreatment of muddy water in urban tap water.
