The aim of the presented paper is to introduce with some techniques and results of the exploratory data analysis withingeostatistical framework. The study is based on a geodetic survey of a surface deformation above Prešov I – Solivary mining areaduring 1996 – 2007 on the basis of geodetic survey by a network of point constitute a survey station. The results of the exploratory dataanalysis should lead to a three dimensional spatial-temporal geostatistical model of impact of a mining activity on surface above it.Final model resulted in a series of two dimensional maps of selected geodynamic phenomenon for given time of the survey. The submitted paper presents the single steps of an analysis of spatial-temporal data with emphasis on study of the given variablesunder geostatistical concept as the regionalized variables and study of their stationary behaviour based on stationary hypothesis ofa random function. The paper shows how the input variables were prepared and first conditions for modelling were derived. The firstassumptions of stationarity in global scale for both variables were deduced from basic statistical analysis and data visualization inspatial-temporal dimensions. The study continues with theoretical description of the effect of drift on the experimental variogram andpractical examples with final thought concerning to the possibilities for following geostatistical estimation in scope of stationary or nonstationarygeostatistics.
