L'arte come spazio necessario: dove prende corpo il sublime

Abstract

Rethink Bildung, in name of a Sublime that takes shape in that material and, at the same time, rarefied space that is Art. To discover Art as necessary space for education and to recognize physical matrix of Sublime, bringing together physics and metaphysics. We recognize art as experience, as shown by John Dewey, and, thanks to Gadamer, we returns to think of Man and of Bildung, as totality of plans, in generative and transformative way that reconnect Nature and Culture, Image and Imagination. Therefore, about Sublime we recognize the long process of secularization marked by Humankind in the name of Science and Reason as a path of gradual liberation – or civilization for Freud - from the shadows of pathos and the 'bond' with the Divine, seizing in the sublime Act of Sublimation and conquered 'modernity' which makes the distance between subject and object the epistemological 'digit', crossing the West and its history of thought. A path to look critically, as to the issue of distance, of reason and objectivity, in the name of a renovated Renaissance and its Humanism, to explore the 'reasons' of Art and Beauty, to see emerge that State of disturbance - Baroque and Romantic - then as necessary to Bildung, in support of that process of shaping oneself and the world, whose genius, the poet, the artist, are specific witnesses and exempla.
