Persistent organic pollutants (POPs) are proven to possess considerable resistance to environmental degradation such that they could not be entirely removed through the typical treatment processes. The consistent presence of these pollutants contributes to impending obnoxious health impacts that are concurrently inflicted on wildlife and human beings. In alignment of getting rid of these menaces, photocatalysis process has arrived as a tremendous remedy thereby the availability of clean and secure water could be ensured. In this review we focus on the potential progress in SnO2 nanostructures for enhancing the photocatalytic degradation of organic pollutants, its current challenges and future perspectives.
