資訊素養是發現和判斷資訊的能力、處理與傳播資訊的能力、組織與創造知識的能力的集合,可分為觀念層面、技術層面、內容層面三個層次。資訊素養是文化素 養、電腦素養、網路素養、傳媒素養的合力。在資訊時代,資訊素養是每一個公民必備的基本素質,對個體而言,有利於個體的學習與自我發展,促進個體順利社會 化;對社會而言,有利於資訊環境的優化與監察,促進資訊技術與人文精神的融合,建設資訊時代新文化。Information Literacy means the integration of the ability of how to discover, analysis, organize, disseminate and create knowledge. There are three layers in information literacy: idea, technology and content. Information literacy is the combination of culture literacy, computer literacy, Internet literacy and media literacy. As a basic literacy for a person in the information society, Information literacy is important for individual as well as society.
