A reabertura da fronteira amazônica, os dragões da maldade e as perspectivas da democracia brasileira

Abstract

In this article, I approach politics not as doctrines and ideologies, but as a succession of conflicts and performances, in which each moment is full of particular virtualities. The point of view adopted is that of the frontier, expressed on a local, national and global scale. The comparison between the current situation and the military dictatorship (1964-1985) runs through the entire text, where I describe the illegal policies and practices that accompany the official reopening of the frontier, also analyzing the contradictions that condition the possibility of its continuity.
