Abstract
The article is devoted to historical-anthropological analysis of color semantics of liturgy, in particular one of the first attempts to comprehend the chromatics of liturgy in the Roman Catholic Church made by cardinal Giovanni Lothario (the future Pope Innocent III) in his treatise «On the Holy sacrament of the altar» ( De sacre altaris misterio ) 1194 - 1195’s.
