The sports and spectacles of the Roman Empire sean by the christian literature
Abstract
A historical synthesis for the critiques of the Christian authors (Ter- tulian, Ciprian, Firmicus Maternus) to the sports competitions and the gladiators' spec- tacles that were celebrated in the roman empire during the first centuries of our age, with a special attention to the actors of the plays, the races of the circus and the gla- diators' fights in the amphitheatre.
