Background. An algorithm is proposed for modeling the distribution of stresses and strains, taking into account the bending stiffness in elements for which the design model is a thread. Materials and methods. The studies were carried out based on the provisions of the strength of materials and mathematical modeling. Results. There has been carried out a comparative analysis of the stress-strain state, determined using a problemoriented software package that implements the proposed algorithm and a commercial computer modeling system that implements the finite element method. Conclusions. The use of the proposed algorithm will make it possible to determine the true stress-strain state of threads with a certain bending stiffness. This will allow to correctly solve the problems of calculation and design, and can also lead to a wider introduction of elements that work mainly in tension and partially perceive bending moments.
