Zbiory archiwaliów w Bibliotece Bogumiła Rudolfa Tschammera w Cieszynie jako źródło do badań polszczyzny cieszyńskiej
Abstract
This article presents a selection of old Polish prints and manuscript texts held in the Bogumił Rudolf Tschamer Library in Cieszyn. The 18th and 19th century archives from the Lutheran clergy are rich material for the study of regional Polish, especially religious language. The nucleus of today’s collection was the church library, founded in the early days of the Church of Jesus at the Higher Gate in Cieszyn (1709). The book collection was greatly expanded by a gift made by the lawyer B. R. Tschammer and the noble Bludowski family (18th century). The library contains works by protestant clergymen, representatives of the nobility, teachers and regional writers. The Tschamer Library was the first public library in Cieszyn. Today, the B. R. Tschamer Library and Archive functions as part of the Museum of Protestantism.
