MODERATE AND LOW PRESSURE GLOW DISCHARGE IN THE GAP BETWEEN TWO ECCENTRIC TUBES
Abstract
The positive column of a low and moderate pressure glow discharge being situated between two dielectric cylindrical walls having differing parallel axes is considered, the discharge current is treated as flowing along the axes. It is shown that the electron temperature of such discharge plasma is higher as one in traditional cylindrical geometry at the same outer plasma radii, but the spatial distribution of plasma density in discharge cross section can acquire a strong inhomogeneity in the azimuthal direction.
