Objectives The suspended aluminum alloy integral plate frame structure is widely used in hovercrafts. In light of the low elastic modulus of aluminum alloy, the instability problem of the aluminum alloy frame structure is prominent and must be fully considered. Methods The stability of aluminum alloy pressure bars for single-piece bulkheads is analyzed using the nonlinear finite element method, and the stability design formulae and results of the aluminum alloy pressure bars are compared with the Rules for Construction and Classification of Sea-going High-speed Craft and Code for Design of Aluminum Structures. Results On this basis, the instability regularity of aluminum alloy pressure bars for single-piece bulkheads is summarized, and methods for checking aluminum alloy struts for single-piece bulkheads and bracket arrangements are proposed. Conclusions The results of this study can provide references for the design of the suspended aluminum alloy integral plate frame structure.
