The Mediated Eyewitness: Voice-Overs and Modelling History
Abstract
The classical history film places both the aesthetic and the strategies of narration in the service of a „history effect.”1 In this way, the spectator is given the impression of experiencing history either as it takes place or after the fact. Film sound, as shown by initial research in audio history, plays a key role in this process.
