Abstract
This paper examines the Tourism faculty profile by analyzing the importance given by students to a set of five skills (didactic; theoretical knowledge; professional experience; relationship; rigor). In addition to a literature review, it was conducted a field study with 140 students from undergraduate institutions from the city of Fortaleza. The data were evaluated by using descriptive and conjoint analysis techniques, and it was found that: in general, didactic was the teaching competence of greatest perceived importance, followed by the professional experience; additional checks indicated that, despite the maintaining the order of importance, the relative importance varies with the half of the course, with the students genre, and the job condition of students
