Un exil fort difficile, un retour tant espéré
Abstract
In 1806, the Neapolitan refugees living in France since 1799 were finally able to return to their homeland and for this purpose they submitted to the Ministry of Police some requests for transport costs. The article analyses these documents, by investigating, above all, the presence of women, who played an active role in this exile of the beginning of the century. They were driven to act in conditions of extreme poverty, which forced them to face new problems and set off unexpected professional trajectories.
