Recriando Laços: arranjos coletivos e processos formativos entre a população negra de Pernambuco no século XIX

eoi/doi Deposit-Electronic Object Identifier http://eoi.citefactor.org/10.11248/ehum.v5i2.786 RESUMO: O estudo propõe uma reflexão sobre a dinâmica cotidiana da população de origem africana existente no Brasil no século XIX, e no seu interior, a análise das diferentes formas de organização coletiva desses sujeitos, considerando tal atividade associativa não apenas como recurso de sobrevivência ao sistema escravista, mas também como expressão da experiência africana de vida coletiva preservada e reinventada no movimento da Diáspora. A partir desse entendimento, destaca-se o caráter formativo ou educativo presente nos processos de constituição e atuação dessas organizações. Para visualizar tal fenômeno, tomamos o particular contexto da Província de Pernambuco, tendo em vista seu papel significativo no trafico atlântico de escravos da África ao Novo Mundo e onde a grande presença dessa população implicou no surgimento de diversas entidades negras e na circulação de valores e saberes diversos por dentro delas. ABSTRACT: The study proposes a reflection on the daily dynamics of the existing African origin population in Brazil in the nineteenth century, and within, the analysis of different forms of collective organization of these subjects, considering such associative activity not only as a survival action against slavery but also as an expression of the African experience of collective life preserved and reinvented the movement of the Diaspora. Based on this understanding, we highlight the training or educational character present in the establishment of processes and activities of these organizations. To view this phenomenon, we take the particular context of Pernambuco Province, given its significant role in the Atlantic slave trade from Africa to the New World and where the large presence of this population resulted in the emergence of several black organizations and the movement of values and diverse knowledge within them.
